In my junior year of high school I was lucky enough(sarcasm) to spend a semester at Rio Rancho High School (the Columbine of New Mexico) not too long after the Harris/Klebold blood bath. I had this class with Nick, when I wasn't mentoring at KUNM, the college radio station. The school was about to enforce uniforms and blah blah blah, I had several questions to ask him. This is what happened, cheers to Nick, he's a bad ass drawing guy.

PJ: So, uh, this is Nick Sedillios and he's a world famous comic artist. What kind of music do you like?
NICK: I don't like music.
PJ: Oh, well, you were just listening to Genesis Live, what's up with that??
NICK: That's an exception.
PJ: Oh, well, what about They Might Be Giants? I saw that too.
NICK: That would be another exception I guess.
PJ: So, uh….?
NICK: So, I guess I don't like any music except for the ,music that I do like.
PJ: Well, uh, why do you listen to this kind of music?
NICK: It makes me feel good about America.
PJ: Really? Have you lost that much faith in america lately?
NICK: Yeah.
PJ: Why?
NICK: Because McDonald's isn't as good as it used to be.
PJ: Yeah that's always disturbing. So, uh, pick some lyrics from a song you like, what are just some of your like favorite lyrics you ever heard?
NICK: um let's see........(silence) (laughing).....I can't remember any right now.
PJ: That's some good lyrics. So what are like any other bands you like?
NICK: (silence) I don't think so.
PJ: Ok, well, what other types of music do you like?
NICK: Just anything weird.
PJ: Ok, that's good, shut up now.

The second try, later on that day.......

PJ: Ok, I'm gonna go back at Nick over here, now Nick now you stated before you only like music that you like.
NICK: I stand by that statement.
PJ: Well, what's some music that you like?
NICK: Um ,I dunno, I like They Might Be Giants.
PJ: How come, cuz they're strange?
NICK: Yeah,
PJ: You like strange stuff?
NICK: Uh, yeah.
PJ: Are you a strange guy?
NICK: Not strange enough.
PJ: Not strange enough, huh?
NICK: People think I could turn into a fascist at any moment and try and take over society.
PJ: nah nah nah,
NICK: I don't think so.
PJ: Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
NICK: What about him?
PJ: What's your views on that?
NICK: I guess I'm pro homicidal maniac.
PJ: Oh, yeah I have to ask this question, what do you think about school uniforms?
NICK: They suck.
PJ: Justify your answer.
NICK: Because it's fascism and their gonna provoke a violent revolution sooner or later.
PJ: We need one, the 60s are gone, it's like everything's just ho-hum, it's like the 1950s but with more violence.
NICK: We need like a Vietnam to thin out the ranks a little.
PJ: We need something to thin out the ranks, these school shootings aren't working enough.
MATT(who was also in the room): that's messed up

From there the conversation went on about how jocks are jerks, blah blah blah...............
